    CHIRTS-ERA5 Daily

By Climate Hazards Center, UC Santa Barbara

CHIRTS-ERA5 daily provides global, high-resolution (0.05°) daily maximum and minimum 2-meter air temperature estimates from 1980 to present. It blends ERA5 reanalysis with station observations using the CHIRTS algorithm, producing a consistent long-term record suitable for climate trend analysis, heat-stress monitoring, and agricultural modeling. The primary access is an analysis-ready Zarr store for bounding-box and time-range reads; the source daily GeoTIFFs from the Climate Hazards Center are the alternative.

Copernicus DEM global digital surface model, 30 m and 90 m

By European Space Agency (ESA), Copernicus programme

Global digital surface model (DSM) of the Earth's surface including buildings, infrastructure and vegetation, derived from the TanDEM-X radar mission and edited and infilled by Airbus Defence and Space for the European Space Agency (ESA) under the Copernicus programme. Two public instances: GLO-30 at 1 arc-second (~30 m) and GLO-90 at 3 arc-seconds (~90 m), both as orthometric heights in metres over the EGM2008 geoid. The standard global elevation base for terrain derivatives, hydrological conditioning and elevation covariates. Sinergise (Sentinel Hub) republishes each instance on AWS Open Data as one cloud-optimized GeoTIFF per 1x1 degree tile with a static SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog (STAC). The Hub publishes a GDAL tile index (GTI) per instance that opens all tiles as one global raster, and a STAC GeoParquet snapshot of the Earth Search items for each instance that lists the tiles with their footprints and grid metadata. No data is copied.

    AgERA5 daily agrometeorological indicators

By Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), ECMWF

Daily surface weather for agriculture, 1979 to present, on a global 0.1° grid. AgERA5 aggregates the hourly ECMWF ERA5 reanalysis to local-time days and corrects it to the finer topography, land use and coastlines of ECMWF's 0.1° HRES model. Its 27 variables (air and dew point temperature, precipitation, solar radiation, humidity, vapour pressure, wind, cloud cover, snow, FAO-56 reference evapotranspiration) match the inputs of most crop and agro-ecological models. The primary access is ECMWF's two analysis-ready Zarr stores, one chunked for time series at points and one for maps of a region; a Google Earth Engine copy and the CDS API are alternatives.

    EcoCrop crop ecological requirements database

By Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

Expert-compiled ecological requirements for 2,568 plant species from the FAO EcoCrop database: optimal and absolute ranges of temperature, rainfall, soil pH, latitude and altitude, killing temperatures, crop cycle length in days, plus categorical soil, light, photoperiod, climate zone and life-form attributes. One row per species, keyed by EcoPort code. The table is a cleaned copy of the CSV snapshot published by the OpenCLIM EcoCrop suitability model (UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology), with the FAO column codes kept so values map directly onto EcoCrop-type suitability models.

Gridded livestock density for 2020 (GLW4)

By Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

Gridded Livestock of the World, version 4 (GLW 4) maps modelled densities of six livestock species: buffalo, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. This data is for the 2020 reference year. Densities are estimated with a Random Forest model that downscales harmonized subnational census counts onto a regular grid, so the values represent modelled distributions rather than direct observations. Values are head per km².

JRC global river flood hazard maps (CEMS-GloFAS)

By European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC), Copernicus Emergency Management Service

Modelled riverine flood inundation along the global river network for seven return periods, 10 to 500 years, at 3 arc-seconds (~90 m), from the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) for the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS). River flows come from the LISFLOOD hydrological model driven by the Global Flood Awareness System (GloFAS) v4.0 reanalysis; inundation is simulated with the LISFLOOD-FP hydraulic model. Each return period has a water-depth map in metres and a hazard map of four depth classes plus not flooded, with two auxiliary masks: permanent water bodies used to patch the maps, and spurious depths where the model is known to over-predict. Source Cooperative serves the maps as cloud-optimized GeoTIFF tiles, and the Hub publishes GDAL virtual raster (VRT) mosaics with one band per return period and STAC GeoParquet indexes that open those tiles in place.

WRB reference soil group probability maps (SoilGrids 2.0)

By ISRIC - World Soil Information

Probability of occurrence of each of 30 World Reference Base (WRB 2006) reference soil groups, and the most probable group per cell, for the globe on a 250 m grid. These are the soil classification maps of SoilGrids 2.0, but they are not new predictions: ISRIC summed the qualifier-level class probabilities predicted in the SoilGrids250m 2017 release (multinomial neural network and random forest ensemble on about 150,000 WoSIS profiles) into one map per reference soil group, and took the highest as the most probable group. Anthrosols, Technosols and Retisols are not included. Each map is a GDAL virtual raster (VRT) that mosaics a folder of GeoTIFF tiles in place, so it opens remotely with GDAL-based tools.

SoilGrids 2.0 global soil property maps

By ISRIC - World Soil Information

SoilGrids 2.0 predicts eleven soil properties for the globe on a 250 m grid at six standard depth intervals from 0 to 200 cm: bulk density, cation exchange capacity, coarse fragments, clay, sand, silt, total nitrogen, pH in water, organic carbon content, organic carbon density, and organic carbon stock (0 to 30 cm only). Quantile regression forests are fitted on about 240,000 soil profiles from the WoSIS database and some 400 environmental covariates. Each property, depth and statistic is one map, with the mean, the median, the 5th and 95th percentiles of the prediction distribution, and a relative uncertainty layer. ISRIC serves every map as a GDAL virtual raster (VRT) that mosaics a folder of GeoTIFF tiles in place, so the maps open remotely with GDAL-based tools without downloading them.
